Separation of power is a political canon whose source is in Montesquieu’s literary works. In ‘The spirit of the laws’ the writer advocates for a government ran by constitutional laws with three independent branches. Each branch was to possess pre-determined authority to act as a check to its counterparts. The president, congress as well as the Supreme Court is the main authoritative bodies in the United States of America.
