Please define the following concepts in your “definition Essay” . Topic will be “the good life”.  Be sure that your definition is the result of your engaging in critical inquiry and “wallowing in complexity” The more original your insights into your term/concept, the better.

Your reason for writing this definition essay should be to change your readers’ view about the concept you’re defining by enlarging or clarifying or restructuring your readers’ view

Body. Devote at least one paragraph to each of the points you’ve identified in your thesis statement as essential in understanding your term/concept. You should include “compelling, concrete examples” and “specific, vivid details,” in your body paragraphs. These examples and details should come from your own life and from other imaginative works or movies. Consider, as well, if some negative examples would be useful in making your points. You may ignore what MWL says about using a mix of rhetorical strategies, since we haven’t reviewed any of those other rhetorical strategies yet. But feel free to use comparison or consideration of causes to help you develop your definition if you’d like and you find that useful.

  1. Double space and center the title of your essay. A good rule of thumb is one to five words that indicate the topic of your essay; do not title your essay Week _ Writing Assignment. Double space your entire essay (do not add additional spaces between paragraphs).

 

  1. Use 1 ¼-inch margins on the left and right and 1-inch margins at the top and bottom.

The conclusion should not be preditcable.
