Response to: Geoffrey Chaucer, the Canterbury tales, The Wife of Baths Prologue and Tale’.  After reading this title, I thought about a woman who focuses on making herself beautiful and presentable. The other thing that come in my mind is that the main character in this story is a woman. But after reading the content, I realized the book narrates story of how an old hag transformed to become a beautiful maid. And after this kind transformation she could attract any man. The story teaches us how beauty lies within each one of us. The story starts by the narrator explaining how this woman was married at tender age, that is when she was 12 years of age. This was a decision that was criticized by many people in her society. Again, she involved in five marriages with five different men.  She ignores these criticisms and cites the biblical teaching about the Samaritan woman who Jesus forgave her sins. The prologue of the bath wife exhibits the unlucky consequences one can face if engaged in multiple marriages…………………
