You are going to create an outline that explains Darwin’s argument as he presents it in the chapters you’ve read (Quammen, btw, would be a good resource here). Your outline must conform to the following guidelines:

Your outline should contain a 2-3 sentence statement of Darwin’s theory of natural selection. This will not be heading, but will be simply a paragraph at the beginning.
Each Heading (I.II. III, etc.) must be the chapter title (Ch. 1-4 & 13).
Under each heading, you must provide a one sentence summary that captures what Darwin’s purpose is to this particular chapter/heading.
You must have subheadings that capture the main subarguments of Darwin’s thesis in each chapter. The number is up to you and dependent on what you think Darwin’s sub-arguments are.

This assignment has a purpose other than to make you regurgitate Darwin’s theory. I want you to understand how he framed his argument for readers because this is what he is going to be judged on.
