The podcast introduced by Valsler and narrated by Durrani discusses the utilities of the painkiller Fentanyl and the adverse effects of the same drug on the health of the community. The narrator explains that Paul Jansen created fentanyl in 1960 as a synthetic painkiller 100 times stronger than morphine. It is now an essential drug mainly used in surgeries and managing chronic pain such as ‘breakthrough pain’ which is a severe flare of pain. Other than injections, it can also be given through a patch or lozenges which are commonly used as battlefield pain relievers. Its medical advantages include its fast solubility in the body and also minimal effects on the circulatory system………
