Introducing Juvenile Probation
Probation is a mode of sentencing that sees the court issue a non-custodial sentence on the convict. During probation, it is possible for the convict to still live in their free abode, even though there may be restrictions that the court places on the individual for the duration of the probation. During that time, the individual may be ordered by the court to attend to a day reporting center. And this is a place where individuals who are on probation are required to go as often as required by the court. That could be every week, fortnight or even every day. Thirdly, this introduction creates a working definition of juveniles; which simply put, is a minor that stands convicted of a criminal offense.
