Bearden and Basquiat are two artists who exhibited different sensibilities as well as styles and who existed in distinct generations. They present parallel themes in their works, especially concerning Jazz and life in the streets, which are predominant throughout their works. Bearden’s major tribute to present day art is presented in collages while Basquiat’s work is presented in painting (Banfield, 2009).
