I think the democracy of Ghana still allows traditional chiefs and kings to rule local regions and towns because they deal with matters that relate to traditional leaderships, customary laws and customs of the local regions. They are also helpful in regulating social behaviours within those local regions since they are social leaders. They provide local security and safety, they safeguard the sovereignty of the local tribes, and they allocate and distribute local land and settle land related disputes.
