Big data has become an essential component of the modern-day organization settings. Many firms are making their decisions on the basis of the collected and analyzed data on their operations. As a consequence, healthcare organizations have been integrating big data in their operations under a conceptual framework, which advances and coordinates the health research objectives and policy. However, the use of big data in hospitals is still a new area, thus requiring a greater action to be taken to ensure the approach does not compromise patients’ well-being. The failure to take any significant action is likely to prevent the development of crude data programs in healthcare settings, which are capable of addressing adequately the demands and needs of healthcare systems (Salas-Vega, Haimann & Mossialos, 2015).
