Founded by Buddha Shakyamuni, Buddhism is a religion that does not mainly focus on a god as a creator of the universe (Sidents, 2017). It focuses on the philosophy and science that take part in forming the world in which we live. Its teachings mainly focus on an individual depending on what they are facing at a particular time and seek to offer help which in turn makes the individual a better person in the society. However, many people do not view Buddhism as a common religion since it does not include the idea of worshipping the creator god in their daily teachings. Therefore, I explore the similarities between different religious philosophies or practices basing my arguments on the similarities between Buddhism and Hinduism as well as Buddhism and Christianity. The connection between the values of the different religions helps one to develop an open mind and an interest to delve deeper into each faith. I also give an account of my Buddhism experience.
