People of various ages are employed in the United States, and the baby boomers are also still employed and vulnerable to discrimination. Managers have to protect people of different ages. Another type of diversity is gender. Managers have to make sure that both men and women are treated fairly by ensuring equal pay, fair hiring and firing and that people are not stereotyped based on their genders. Another type of diversity is race and ethnicity. People of various biological heritages and social traits are many in the United States, and managers and colleagues have to treat every person fairly. Another kind of diversity is abilities and disabilities. The groups are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The fifth type of diversity is religion.
