Effective communication is based on how good the audience is in listening. Although listening is the most crucial skill in any communication, not most of us are good listeners. Research has proven that we only recall less than 50% of what we hear, (Robertson, 2005). Most people confuse hearing and active listening but there is a great difference between the two. Hearing is the ability to receive and understand sound. For instance, I can hear some sound and be able to tell what it is or recite it back as it was said. Active listening, on the other hand, requires one to not only hear the words but also listening to understand the meaning of the……………….
