College Composition

In previous units, you have watched videos from the TED.com website, which is a website dedicated to sharing knowledge, ideas, and perspectives that can have a positive change in various situations. For this unit’s Discussion, go to the TED.com website and select a video to analyze the argument made by the speaker. While you can choose any video, you may need to watch a few videos to find one that you are comfortable with analyzing the argument made by the speaker. While the video does not need to relate to your Final Project topic, it may help to choose a video that you can use as further evidence in your project.

After reviewing your selected video from TED.com, respond to the following prompts in paragraph format:
• What parts of the speaker’s argument stood out to you and why do you think the argument resonated with you?
• What methods did the speaker use to make his or her argument strong? Cite information from the readings in relation to the parts of an argument you noticed.
• What aspects of the argument were weak or underdeveloped? What logical fallacies were conveyed in the argument? If no logical fallacies were conveyed, how did the speaker avoid specific logical fallacies?
• How might you use the strengths of this speaker’s argument in your own writing of the Final Project?

However, this stance was not received well by the employees.
