“1984” Compare and Contrast Paper
7 Pages double space
submit a “compare and contrast” analysis of the ethical concepts revealed in the society described in “1984” versus our society today. How many of the factors in Orwell’s vision have come true—wholly or in part? Given what you have learned/studied in this class regarding the ethics of individual privacy vis-à-vis technological advancements, demonstrate how you would use the 7-step Decision Model to determine ethical choices in your, and society’s, real future. (Content of the papers will be no more than eight pages–double-spaced). Please include a cover/title page and—as the last page–a research sources citations’ page. (Both of these pages do not count in the required page total.) “Style” is “business efficient”, i.e., prose is acceptable, along with bullet points, checklists, tables or whatever structure clearly, efficiently communicates to the reader.)
For information and quotes you used from the 1984 book, either direct quotation or paraphrase, make sure to have in-text citation like this:
“Perhaps one did not want to be loved so much as to be understood.” (page number #, or chapter #)
The purpose of this is simple: we want you to read the book and understand what the author is trying to convey. Instead of searching for quotes directly from Google, you should be looking for quotes from the book itself.
This paper’s main emphasis should be on “compare and contrast”, and it will be the majority of the grades.
You may utilize tables for the “compare and contrast” portion or anything similar to substantiate your arguments/claims, as long as it is concise and easy-to-read.
