INTRODUCTION

Edgar Allan Poe is one of the well known and poets and writers in the United States. Before he specialized in poetry, he earned his living by a pen through writing literature work .This was back in the days before the law of intellectual property was imposed in the U.S. constitution. The Raven is one of the most interesting poems that Edgar Allen Poe has ever written. In my discussion I will base my comparison on the themes contained in The Raven and the themes contained in both the Premature Death and The Masque of the Red Death (Stiefvater & Maggie, pg 112).
