Although binge drinking is a national problem, it is often associated with the college experience. For this activity, use a sociological lens to analyze the contributing factors and societal effects of binge drinking on college campuses. Consider social, environmental, and other factors that contribute to this demographic’s consumption of alcohol, as well as the problems that result, such as sexual assault and alcoholism.

In a 2- to 5-minute video, use one to two major concepts and theories and appropriate terminology from the text to analyze a fictional depiction of heavy drinking at a university, such as a movie or music video. Be sure to (1) explain each concept, theory, and term applied and how each applies to your chosen example, and (2) examine factors that contribute to binge drinking in the portrayal as well as the implications of that behavior. You must include visual aids (e.g., you can display a diagram as you give your explanation), but you are not required to appear in the video.
