ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION

Throughout the course, you have examined the history and evolution of the U.S. Constitution, the three branches of government, roles and responsibilities, the balance of individual rights versus societal needs in Bill of Rights interpretations, and application based implications. For your final assignment, you will showcase connections between learning and application in a career-specific context. (So far I am interested in probation officer)

Focusing on the competencies, and to showcase your learning proficiency, prepare a 6–7 page paper addressing two key areas of learning for each competency:

  • The importance of this learning.
  • The application of the learning in a career context.

American Constitution, first signed on the seventeenth of September 1987, established the United States’ national government and well as fundamental laws. The Constitution also guaranteed some basic rights for the people. Under the Articles of Confederation, which was the first governing document in America, each state acted as an independent country because the national government was weak. After the 1787 convention, however, a stronger federal government with three branches was devised. The branches of the government formed are the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. The Constitution also provided for system checks and balances ensuring that no branch of the government can have too much power to lead to a possibility of tyranny. There were also ten amendments providing for the Bill of Rights……….
