One of the Classical theories of development was Sigmund Freud’s Psychoanalytic Development Theory (Berk, 2018). According to Freud, a person’s behaviour and development are determined by the conscious and unconscious parts of the human mind. Freud explained that the psychic is made up of the conscious mind which holds the memories, thoughts, and feelings that one is aware of and the unconscious mind which holds feelings, memories and thoughts that one is not aware of. Most of what is held in the unconscious mind were either forgotten or suppressed due to its unpleasantness. Freud asserts that the human mind has three features, which interact with the conscious and the unconscious mind to generate behavior. The first feature he talks about is the Id, which is present at birth and includes what one inherits from parents. Secondly is the ego, which is developed from the interaction with the environment and it’s the decision maker enabling one to face reality……….
