The Covid-19 pandemic has a devasting impact not only on U.S. businesses, big and small, in just a month and a half of lockdown imposed on the country but on global businesses as well. Some businesses and industries are hit harder than others, such as the oil industry with “negative prices” and some companies are filing for bankruptcy. Should the benefits of the lockdown to control the spread of the pandemic outweigh the cost to the U.S. economy and businesses resulting in 30 million people being laid off and thrown into unemployment and long lines at the food banks? Or is there a balance?
