  • What examples of promotion can you use for your business idea? Scott refers to the following with promotion:

Only 1 out of 20 interactions or fewer should be something your promote – such as your product or service. You can offer a special discount, etc.

OPTION #2

Analyze a Business and their application of Scott’s suggested 85/10/5% content marketing plan. Select a business and analyze how or if they are applying Scott’s rule.

  • What is the business doing to Share and Engage with their target audience? Try to be specific as far as businesses/people they are interacting with, platforms they use, types of information they are sharing, etc. How is the business keeping their audience’s interests in mind? What percentage of posts do you think are dedicated to “Share and Engage?”
  • What examples of original content are posted that might be of interest to their audience? Can you tell what the buyer/customer persona might be that the business is trying to appeal to based on their posts? What percentage of original content is the business posting?
  • What examples of promotion are being used? What is the percentage of promotional posts made as compared to the other types of posts?
