For this short creative writing experiment, you will create an immortal being in order to explain a specific natural phenomenon. The natural phenomenon may be an event (for example: earthquake, flood, fire) or a celestial body (for example: a constellation of stars, the sun or moon, a comet) or a terrestrial body (for example: a mountain, ocean, type of tree, flock of birds). Give this god a name and a birth story, and describe the god’s looks and stature. Create a story about the god that explains the natural phenomenon. Finally, give the god a primal power and a primal weakness: what can this god do that no one else can do? And what is the one way this god might be slain? Note: ALL of this must be your own writing!
