The goal of this assignment was to estimate the embodied GHG emissions from your ICT (Information Communication Technology) devices that you and your family own. Focus on the energy that goes with manufacturing the devices. Not the USE. Read the article “Comparing Embodied Greenhouse Gas Emissions of Modern Computing and Electronics Products“, introduction and some results and discussion part but not encouraged to read the methods part.

1. Compile inventory of your IT devices

2. To acquaint you with one aspect of the environmental burden of you ICT hardware, namely the embodied greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions and how to calculate this estimate. (in-use, hibernating, discarded in past 5 years

3, To explore options for reducing your GHG emissions by determining which hardware has the highest and lowest embodied GHG emissions. (look at the spreadsheet)

4. Critically analyze the method used to estimate the GHG emissions of ICT.

5. Make a report, or in your interest you can make charts, comparisons of your findings

– Data from Teehan & Kandlilkar come from early 2000’s, you could search up for devices that are not included. Ideally, third-party data is encouraged for data researching. (scholarly paper or third-party company’s websites)
