Critiquing Internet Sources

Today, the Internet provides an unprecedented amount of information by way of blogs, videos, and podcasts. Conduct a critique of one blog, one video, and one podcast, which provide information that addresses the topic of obesity. Assess the authors’ use of bias, validity, and applicability of information. Examine the influence of web-based information on global citizenship and multicultural understanding. Then, compile a list of three factors you believe should be considered when evaluating Internet sources for use in researching information.

The paper must be three to four pages in length (excluding the title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style. In addition to the three multimedia sources you are analyzing, support your points with at least two scholarly sources. One of the scholarly sources must be from the Ashford Online Library. Cite your sources within the text of your paper and on the reference page.

PLEASE NOTE; I would like it to be on obesity and I have three sources for the blog, video, and podcast if you would like them. I was trying to go with .gov or .edu sites to make it a bit easier on the analytical part of using scholarly sources.

Critique of one blog on obesity

The author talks about the early childhood obesity rates. There is no clear information as to the causes of obesity in early childhood. The author does not give precise numbers on the percentage drop of the rates of obesity among the young children even though he tries to explain that there has been decline in the obesity rates. The author explains that there are various efforts for combating obesity in children which are not explained in detail. The information that is provided in the blog is not comprehensive as to enable a reader to draw conclusive statements from the information. The information provided by the author has some bit of validity for the United States where the rate of obesity had risen over time. The efforts that are suggested by the author can be applicable to all the members that need to put efforts to curb obesity in children (Duncan, Kane, Lawson, Cohen, Ciccotti, & Dodson, 2013).

Critique of one video on obesity

The video explains that eating too much food and moving too little. This is not a valid explanation for the obesity epidemic in the United States. It is also biased to argue that obesity………………….
