Introduction
Democracy can be defined as a system government whereby the whole population of a state or rather all the eligible citizens participate in governance typically through representatives that they have elected. In simple terms, U.S president Abraham Lincoln defined this system of governance as a rule of the people by the people and for the people. Stable democracies are polities which have enjoyed undisrupted rules of democracy. There, however, has been heatedly debated of whether such polities exist. Just like all other political regimes, democratic regimes are fragile. Political stability has never been a norm in human history. For some reasons, however, democratic regimes have been viewed as being more fragile than authoritarian regimes.
