According to the article, bacteria live in sophisticated communities known as biofilms. The latter can be found on several areas such as dental implants. Besides plaques, they can also cause a dangerous illness; the legionnaire’s sickness believed to have killed around 29 persons back in 1979. The reading explores the structure of biofilms and the conditions which favor their growth. Additionally, it digs deeper into the formation of dental plaque.
