Response to Hurricane Disasters
Recent hurricanes Dorian (2019), Harvey, and Irma (2017) have devastated parts of the Bahamas, Texas, and Florida respectively.
- Wise (2006)* proposed implementing an “adaptive management” approach for disasters. Explain the use of this model in terms of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Support your statements with quotations.
- NIMS mentions the Incident Command System (ICS): Describe a typical ICS specifically related to a hurricane disaster response. Who would comprise an ICS? Describe the roles of the members. Note: You can use an actual ICS (from Google) for either Hurricane and comment on its structure.
