Composing an effective and descriptive job announcement/advertisement is vital. The information included in the job announcement and the method of advertisement could be either detrimental or favorable to the organization both in the short- and long-term.

Part 1 (1- page):

For the third component of the Session Long Project use the two job descriptions developed in Module 2 SLP and in 1 to 2 pages answer the following questions:

  1. What should be included on the job advertisement and why?
  2. How would you go about recruiting for this position?
  3. What does the job advertisement have to do with the job description? Or doesn’t it?
  4. How you would go about selecting a candidate for the position.

Part 2 (1 page):

Define “skills gapping” and discuss how this process can be applied to the health care setting or any other type of organization. During your course of employment have you ever seen this process used? If so, discuss the context. How would you apply it to where you work or have worked?

Question 1: What should be Included in Job Advertisement

A job advertisement is aimed to attract people with similar qualifications to apply for a particular position in a firm. Therefore, a lot of time and resources should be invested in for efficient designing of the job advertisement. An excellent job advertisement introduces the company, its objectives and functions, the benefits of the job and also the culture of the company (Alder & Gilbert, 2006). The advertisement should also include the final product and service the company provides. It should give a highlight working environment and the challenges the company experiences so that candidates with health problems could be aware of the risks. It should always describe all the jobs, the primary functions, and duties that the applicant will be expected to perform. It enables the applicant to be prepared for the tasks awaiting him/her. The advert should mention only the critical skill required for the job. The contact information for the email address, telephone number, and postal address should be provided. It may also include the recreational facilities it provides for its employees like a gym, a swimming pool or even day care………..
