Egyptian Pottery: Ceramics and Pottery Art

I want you to do this presentation about the Egyptian pottery

Students will research and give a 5-minute presentation on a chosen ceramic artist, or a topic related to ceramics technology or history. Each presentation will be assessed against the criteria according to the rubric presented below including; an understanding of the artist’s aesthetics; interpretation of the artist’s motives or concept; technical organization of the presentation.

These presentations should include visual information and must be organized in a professional preview program such as Power Point or another preferred program. This information will be projected, and students should strive for a cohesive, seamless, and informative presentation. These presentations will be held during the scheduled final.

Mohamed Mandour. Born in 1950 in Al Fostat, Old Cairo. Today He is considered the landmark of modern pottery

Taken in by Mohamed Hagrass. Won the prize of the Venice Biennale in Italy in 2002. Currently living and working at Al Fostat where he started his works. Produced simple useful objects that reflected his childhood. Traditional water containers (qulal), Large containers for oil/fuul (balalis) or Candelabras for subu’. Mandour’s work was a fusion of memory and modernity.
