ELL 355 WEEK 4 DISCUSSION 2
In Unit II, we are presented with strategies on how to work with other professionals. Sometimes these professionals are volunteers, paraprofessionals, or colleagues (such as teachers and resource specialists). Consider the discussions that took place earlier this week on how you listen and respect the needs/concerns of your colleagues when they have a vested interest in your class. Think about how to make these relationships stronger and beneficial for you and your students. Which of the three strategies could you use to capitalize on the kinds of support these other professionals are offering? Provide an example or two from your own experiences, if applicable.
Keep in mind that the overarching theme here is relationships. Consider how people are honored and respected, given the strategy presented. Then, find a way to either continue the professional relationship or help it grow and evolve for the benefit of you and the students.
