Diffusion and adoption

The emerging technology of autonomous vehicles will adapt the use of diffusion and adoption. Diffusion is the process where an innovation spreads from a person or organization through the social channels until it reaches another user over time. Adoption is the decision to incorporate a new substance or product in the market (Chen et al. 2016). The innovation of autonomous vehicles will follow the diffusion and adoption marketing strategy. To test the vehicles, a sample population will be selected to aid in the process. The population will include top officials from various companies which promote the use of new technology. The target market in these institutions will be all staff members who are allowed to report in their workplaces while driving. The first task will be engaging the management of the institutions. Each institution will be offered two new vehicles at a discounted price. The top management of the institution will be allowed to do a simulation of using the new model of vehicles. The main benefits of these cars are their abilities to understand the traffic. Since the vehicles are being self-driven, the users will have easy time when operating them. Diffusion will also allow the company to ascertain the aspects to be considered when pushing for more customer engagement of the new product. Through diffusion, all the specific user recommendations will be tallied to enable the system improve on the efficiencies of the vehicles. Adoption will be used by a select group of customers who will be picked randomly through an online test. As the world changes, effective ways of avoiding the traffic will be considered. The autonomous vehicles will play a key role in the distribution and advancement of the set technology. The group used for adoption will use them as their personalized vehicles with customized features to fit their specific demands.

The key attributes of the autonomous vehicles include safe stops, naming system, safe driving, law abiding and unanticipated handover. The vehicle should have and maintain a specific safe stop zones. The safe stop zones occurs when the vehicle has failed to move and the driver can’t take charge of driving. During such events, the vehicle, through the inbuilt feature will alert the onboard passengers about the next steps and the situation at hand. Drivers who will act as navigation assistant will be required to have expertise about the operation of the new vehicles. This knowledge will enable all the drivers understand the technologies that the new vehicles will present and also the new regulations set aside for the usage of the new technology. Additionally, the vehicles will be developed in a manner that will make them abide by all the set road rules and requirements. With the inclusion of geo-fencing, the autonomous vehicles will operate under a specific region. Zoning the areas of application will be a move to determine the efficiency of the vehicles on the ground. Clear handover between the vehicle and the driver will involve a special request from the vehicle that would ask the driver the chances of accepting the offer or declining it. In the event the driver rejects the offer, the vehicle will continue moving as before. In contrary, when the vehicle is granted all the permissions to engage the driver, smooth takeover will be performed to enhance the overall change over process. Moreover, the new system installed enables the vehicles avoid accidents by dealing with any emerging issues.

The disadvantages of using these vehicles are their inability to make good decisions prior to emergencies. Technological errors might occur in the event a driver refuses to take charge of the vehicle. During such occasion, the vehicle might undergo a transformation that might limit its capacity of movement. To avoid such precedence’s, the new system will entail an option of driving without requesting any assistance from physical drivers.

Graphical presentation of the attributes of the vehicle; the line chart presented below indicates all the specific data of the new vehicle design. The attributes show the usage of the vehicles and the customer specific requirements.

Different customers in the market present different requirements for use during the whole process. The most common customer niche that will be considered is the single market segmentation. Under this segmentation, the clients will be the main focus. The competitive market will be a key factor. Comparisons with the other types of vehicles will be used to determine the exact customer feedback regarding the self-driven vehicles. Although the new design does not require any passengers on board, the new range of cars main feature will be ensuring all the specific requirements of the clients are met and that the vehicles will only use water and electricity. As is the norm with the tradition vehicles, the new vehicles will present a totally different perception that will only allow a single user to own and operate it. This feature will be the main attribute that will enhance the vehicle’s viability across all the terrains. The competitive advantage that the new form of cars brings is their ability to only use electricity and water. The switch will occur automatically without the intervention of a physical driver. In the event the electric power is down, the vehicle automatically switches to usage of water. This attribute will ensure the dominance in the single market segmentation. The rising cost of fuel has been the biggest factor that makes most people prefer public transport. With the introduction of the self -driven vehicles, the overdependence of fuel will come to an end. The users will also be given opportunity to determine the mode of their preference between electricity and water. The graph below represents the market segmentation and the willingness to adopt the new system.

The use of fuel free vehicles will play a major role in ensuring the over dependence of fuel vehicles will be a thing of the past. The vehicles will be maintained in such a manner that will make them utilize less electric power. For the vehicles to be fully functional, users will be required to charge the engines for about three hours. The engines will be fitted with in built li-on batteries that are replaced in case of wear out. The batteries will also act as a substitute for the water powered engines. With the use of segmented water engines, users will be advised to always ensure the availability of water in the vehicles. The presence of water will be a substitute of the electric power and must be available all the time. Since the vehicles are new in the market, a feature will be installed that will ensure the vehicle moves only when the spare water is available and the electric power available is above 50% in the engines battery. This technology will not only be viable but also manage to make the clients reduce the overspending experienced while using the traditional vehicles.

Forces in the external market that will enable the viability of the new vehicles is the ability to avoid using fuel. Most customers cited the use of fuels as one of the most expensive aspect in their monthly budget. With the introduction of the new vehicles, the dependence and the dominance of fuel driven vehicles will be a thing of the past. Most people will prefer the new technique being introduced as it will be free and a source of environmental maintenance. Fuel driven vehicles emitted poisonous gases that affect the environment by polluting and destroying the ozone layer. The new vehicles will avoid this health hazard effect by only emitting vaporized non-poisonous gases. Clients will be encouraged to focus and try the new vehicles to get a feeling of the future into artificial intelligence. Additionally, the skills level of an operator will be very minimal as the vehicle will be controlling the pace with the prevailing traffic rules set aside. Customers will be allowed to select the best design that fits the area of stay. Each of the vehicles will be manufactured and given attributes for each location. Specific attributes will be considered for the specific vehicle designs and type. Moreover, all the customers will be provided with self-kits to ascertain the level of assistance each vehicle will demand upon being onboard.
