Psychologists deal with vulnerable persons in the society, thus the need for them to be highly cautious on their jobs. However, some of them fail to adhere to the ethical code of code of conduct, thereby leading to complaints from the clients. One of the most serious unethical conduct by the psychologists is having inappropriate relationship with a patient. Psychiatrists are not required to undertake their duties professionally. For this reason, they are not expected to have intimate or personal relations with their clients. The ramification to psychologists having inappropriate relations with their clients under the APA Code of Conduct is Principle B, which entails fidelity and responsibility. Under this principle, psychologists are expected to create relationships of trust with those they work (Fisher, 2012).
