Being tech savvy, I experienced numerous challenges during my first months as a new nurse in a paper chart environment. When I began working as a nurse, our organization had not integrated healthcare information systems into their operations. As such, nurses and physicians stored patients’ data in in papers, which I found to be extremely tiresome and time-consuming. Writing patients’ information and retrieving their files was extremely straining. For this reason, I was extremely happy when the hospital finally introduced computers, tablets, and smartphones.
