Four dentists currently in solo practice here in Evansville have decided to enter into a group practice. They have hired you as a consultant to provide advice on human resource issues. Each dentist currently has one employee that serves as office manger. Three of the dentists have a full-time dental hygienist and the fourth dentist has a part-time hygienist. Two of the dentists have billing and collections performed by an outside firm and the other two hire a part-time person that works twenty hours per week. One of the office managers is planning to retire in September. They are considering adding as many as three new dentists to the practice during the next two years. These will likely be recent graduates from dental school.

None of the four dentists have any formal procedures dealing with human resource issues. They all plan to start practicing together in a new office on October 15, 2020. Outline tasks that they need to complete and procedures that they need to develop before and after they merge.
