You are to summarize Dr. Kathryn Krasinski’s lecture (November 13th, 2019 – 3:00pm – Curtis Hall Theater).
There should 3 parts to the Assignment
1. A summary (1 to 1 1⁄2 pages) describing the major points presented during the lecture. Be sure to include the location of where the site is and describe in detail the artifacts, features and other archaeological materials that were found during the excavations.
2. An analysis as to the potential importance of this site either to the better understanding of a particular area and/or time period or of a cultural event.
3. One reference that can be helpful in understanding the relevance of the finds at the site.

Extra Credit writing Assignment
The Tanana Valley in Alaska was the actual site where Dr Kathryn carried out the excavation. Some ancient artefacts were discovered, and they are of great importance in the archaeological field. The other important discovery is the mammoth tusk which dated around 13, 900 years. This was among the oldest tusks, and it can be attributed to the ice age period. Some fauna remains were likewise discovered which dated around the ice-age period; they are essential as they will help in the DNA analysis. In her lecturer, Dr Kathryn lecture highlights some of the important archaeological sites where some excavations have been made.
