Introduction. This paper represents a growing problem, white collar crime, which has a big impact in the world’s economy. The banking sector which is considered the backbone of the country has been targeted many times by military and government organizations and this has undermined the people’s trust on the security and safety features of a country’s system. White collar crimes refer to crimes that are done in attempt of financial gain and involve non violent actions. They mostly include fraud, forgery, bribery and insider trading. They are mostly done by business and government professionals but they also include individuals who defraud the public using unscrupulous means. This paper addresses the recent years where incidences of white collar crimes have increased at a high rate. Criminals who commit the crimes have become more complicated and their actions more calculated. The crimes have become a disturbing issue since they not only affect a few individuals but communities as a whole. The villains in these crimes mostly go scot free and in the few cases that they are apprehended they receive relatively short sentences………….
