Genetically modified food products have raised controversies since their discovery and introduction into agricultural practices despite the explanations and scientific evidence provided by the proponent of one of the measures for dealing with the food and hunger crises that are affecting the quality of life of the citizens of several developing countries (NASEM, 2016). While the science behind the process is clear, the one for determining, preventing, or mitigating the health risks that could result from their consumption remains unclear. Similarly, the social and environmental impacts of the utilization of the process remain critical sources of the debate that show critics the edge that they have over the debates over genetically modified food substances. As anthropologists and social scientists, our objective for examining any subject is not just the scientific and social evidence on the causes and impacts but the cultural implications……
