I engaged in many wars during my past years and used to compare myself to Beowulf’s character of being a warrior. This is certainly true as it is well played out in the novel; Beowulf. Throughout his life, the hero has been defeating monsters despite facing many challenges. Among the monsters are Grendel and the dragon who reveal much about the society and the Christian values at that time. Even though the two monsters are defeated, they still posed a danger to the new hero. Beowulf is at risk of not only losing his life but his humanity, spirituality, and virtue.
