Privacy is the right of persons to maintain information regarding themselves from being unveiled. This means that patients have the power over others accessing information regarding themselves. It is the mandate of the patients to dictate who, where and when their information should be unveiled. On the other hand, confidentiality is how those who posses the information about patients, that is the health care providers, treat it when it has been disclosed to others.
