Health Insurance and the Affordable Care Act

Organizations offering health insurance to their employees as part of their compensation and benefits package do so because it is a competitive advantage tool and statutorily required. Also, it is necessary to note that the kind of health insurance plan that is selected by a firm is not only dependent on its cost but the number of people working as a full-time employee (FTEs). According to the provisions of the Affordable Care Act and Patient Protection Act of 2010, an organization with 50 or more FTEs are not expected to purchase the same plan for their employee as those with less number of workers.
