Health Belief Model Health belief Model is a psychological which explains and predicts more about health behaviors. This is performed through focusing on beliefs and attitudes of different individuals. Health belief models was developed late in 20th century by Hochbaum, kegels, and Rosenstock who were psychologists working at Public health services in U.S. This model was developed in response to failure of free tuberculosis. This problem facilitated the development of this model because many people were dying out of this disease. These three guys came up with the idea in order to improve public health of within the country. Since then, it has adapted to explore variety of short and long term health behaviors. It is also associated with the transmission of HIV/AIDS and sexual risk behaviors.  Health belief model is based on understanding if someone will take the preventive measure to avoid some disease such as the use of condoms to prevent the occurrence of HIV/AIDS. There are several concepts in Health Belief Model which are perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers.
