History of Mayan Hieroglyphs Decipherment

For this assignment students must watch PBS Nova’s Cracking the Maya Code (Available via YouTube and a link on the Canvas site). Your assignment is to write a 2-page, 1.5 spaced summary of the video highlighting the history of the decipherment of Mayan hieroglyphs. Your paper should take note of the importance of art and archaeology in telling the story of the Maya. The mechanics of the paper (grammar, punctuation, and writing style) is as important as the content of the paper. Half of your grade will be based on your mechanics.So be sure to plan to include time for editing. A module with writing tips and links to resources will be available in the coming weeks.
