The process of decontamination presents a set of procedures that hospitals and other first responders should follow in removing and properly disposing of the contaminant agent. Decontamination as a means of emergency response includes the preparation of responders, the protection of the public from potential contaminants, the actual decontamination process, treatment, and recovery.
