Answer the following questions about a patient’s spiritual needs in light of the Christian worldview.

  1. In 200-250 words, respond to the following: Should the physician allow Mike to continue making decisions that seem to him to be irrational and harmful to James, or would that mean a disrespect of a patient’s autonomy? Explain your rationale.
  2. In 400-500 words, respond to the following: How ought the Christian think about sickness and health? How should a Christian think about medical intervention? What should Mike as a Christian do? How should he reason about trusting God and treating James in relation to what is truly honoring the principles of beneficence and nonmaleficence in James’s care?
  3. In 200-250 words, respond to the following: How would a spiritual needs assessment help the physician assist Mike determine appropriate interventions for James and for his family or others involved in his care?

Instruction from my instructor:

This final assignment is one in which you should do exceptionally better because you by now understand the expectations.

  1. Review your rubric thoroughly
  2. Adhere to the word count for each section. The cover page and the references are not part of the word count
  3. Use subheadings so that each section is thoroughly discussed. This assignment, for example, has 3 sections and a total of 5 questions. Therefore, to ensure that you answer meaningfully and with focus, 5 subheadings would highlight the questions asked. The questions are not to be used as subheadings, therefore write those subheadings in your own words.
  4. In this assignment, your references must follow APA guidelines
  5. Be sure to have a cover page at this level of writing. You should have one according to APA guidelines, the absence of a cover page is 5% deduction.
  6. Avoid a vague discussion. The key is to directly answer the question asked and then elaborate on your answer. If the principles are mentioned in the instructions, they are expected in your responses. Responses that just barely answer the questions surrounding the principles and fail to relate them to the case study will barely receive points.
