How would George interpret his suffering in light of the Christian narrative, with an emphasis on the fallenness of the world?

The use of Palliative Care rather than Euthanasia at the end of Life

The practice of health care providers at all levels brings you into contact with people from a variety of faiths. This calls for knowledge and understanding of a diversity of faith expressions; for the purpose of this course, the focus will be on the Christian worldview.

Based on “Case Study: End of Life Decisions,” the Christian worldview, and the worldview questions presented in the required topic study materials you will complete an ethical analysis of George’s situation and his decision from the perspective of the Christian worldview.

Provide a 1,600-word ethical analysis while answering the following questions:

  1. How would George interpret his suffering in light of the Christian narrative, with an emphasis on the fallenness of the world?
  2. How would George interpret his suffering in light of the Christian narrative, with an emphasis on the hope of resurrection?
  3. As George contemplates life with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), how would the Christian worldview inform his view about the value of his life as a person?
  4. What sorts of values and considerations would the Christian worldview focus on in deliberating about whether or not George should opt for euthanasia?
  5. Given the above, what options would be morally justified in the Christian worldview for George and why?
  6. Based on your worldview, what decision would you make if you were in George’s situation?

Remember to support your responses with the topic study materials.

Instruction from my professor:

Concerning this week’s assignment, in addition to you adhering to the word count, answering the questions thoroughly, having subheadings to show exactly what you are responding too, there is the abstract that is required for this assignment. The absence of this abstract will result in a deduction of 10% of the overall grade. Therefore, kindly include the abstract.

Below are a few links on what an abstract should look like but I also would like to give you a general understanding in the form of an abstract. Kindly notice the format

Abstract

An abstract is a short synopsis of the upcoming discussion, highlighting the major points of your paper. It is not to be confused with a thesis statement which comes at the end of your introduction. An abstract is not to be confused with the introduction either because the introduction is part of the body of the paper. The Abstract on the other hand is on the second page (the page after the cover page by itself). Because of this, if the abstract is made part of the body of the paper in the upcoming assignment, it will not be considered an abstract because it is incorrectly formatted and 10% will still be lost. It is not enough to stick the word abstract at the top of the paper either as this will be ignored. The abstract has a special format that must be followed in order for it to be recognized as an abstract. The abstract should be between 150 and 250 words, not less and not excessively over (it should not cover the entire page, should not be more than a paragraph). The abstract finally has main words or significant words at the bottom. This paragraph is an example of an abstract.

Keywords: abstract, thesis, second page, body
