Hypertension is a prevalent condition that is characterized by a high force of blood against the walls of the arteries that caused health problems. Hypertension is a chronic condition that involves persistently increased blood pressure. The measurement of blood pressure to test for hypertension involves two measurements. There is the systolic and the diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the maximum pressure, and it happens when the left ventricle expands to the maximum. In contrast, diastolic pressure is minimum pressure and happens when the left ventricle contracts in preparation for the next expansion. The management of hypertension requires the understanding of not only how it is measured, but also the understanding of concepts like health promotion, health restoration, health maintenance and health teaching to be able to manage hypertension adequately.
