Identify the location or example that you think needs some BPM work

Part 1 half page for 3 questions

Using your own knowledge, experience, or observations, identify a business, business domain, or activity that you think is in need of or offers the opportunity for a BPM project or effort. This is a somewhat broad, general assignment, but is intended to get you thinking about where improvements might be possible.

1) Identify the location or example that you think needs some BPM work. What is the organization (or type of organization) and the work that is your focus. (You don’t have to name a specific company if you would like to maintain some discretion, but you do need to provide some detail on the business/industry, size of the organization, the type of process your are presenting, etc.)

2) Explain how the current process works, the context in which it (the process) exists, what ‘works’ (from your perspective), and what does not work. In other words, you are describing the “As-Is” situation. (No diagrams are needed… at least not for this assignment.)

3) Describe how a BPM effort can/should offer significant improvement to the “As-Is” environment. How do you envision the “To-Be” environment.

Single-space your text; Double-space (i.e., one blank line) between paragraphs. It would be useful to break your materials into sections or paragraphs … you can even number them if you wish. This does not need to be any longer than a single page in length, but will probably take at least 1/3 to a 1/2 page. It is better to have too much description than too little.
