Importance of Synagogue in Judaism

In Judaism, the synagogue is a house of worship that is used by the communities for prayer and study of the religious texts. As a building for bringing together the people, the structure was allowed to flourish along the temples of the cult in the ancient era in Jerusalem, especially when the representatives of communities are expected to observe a two-week prayer period as the priests participated in ritual sacrifices in the Temple of Jerusalem. While this practice lasted for several years, the most significant rise of the synagogue occurred after the destruction of the Second Temple by Titus in 70CE. The building spread across the country and to neighboring ones including Egypt and Babylonia, which marked an essential transformation in the lives of the Jewish communities.
