Scholarly Inquiry- I think that as an educator I am making the shift from students doing the heavy lifting and developing critical thinking skills that will transfer outside of the classroom. This class showed me when students are able to question their thinking, new strategies and ways to do things can and will be formed. Evidence is researched to either confirm or push the thinking of the learner. This is the spark that keeps all of us continuously learning.

Information Literacy- Educators use data to drive instruction and find the misconceptions of students learning. There are various formats that we as educators have to use and must be able to analyze the data and research to make informed decisions. I have learned how to find, analyze, and organize the information to convey my understanding.

Scholarly Writing- I have definitely improved and am currently still improving my writing. I have utilized resources such as Grammarly as a tool to push me to kind and correct making structural errors in my writing. I have been pushed more than any other program and learning the correct ways to cite sources and follow the APA format. I plan to use the writing center more to decrease using passive voice in my writing.

Reflective Practice- When you lack the ability to reflect on things that went well and need improvement, you lack a culture of feedback. The absence of feedback creates a culture of mediocrity. There are many opportunities for me to reflect upon the learning that has taken place. I am able to reflect after the post responses from peers, feedback from instructors, and when I am asked to think critically after a reading.

Professionalism: Ethics and Diversity- We have been afforded the opportunity to look at multiple scenarios from an ethical and diverse lens. This has forced me to really reflect on the importance of remaining professional and why strong ethics in education is paramount. If there is a lack of ethical behavior, our education system crumbles. Diversity is the glue that keeps it all together and allows us to look at issues from different prospectives to ensure what is implemented in the best interest of all learners.
