The American population is said to be a mixture of many ethnic groups who migrated to America as a result of many factors. During the great famine of 1840, many immigrants found their way to the American colony. Majority of the Irish American migrated to America between 1820. These included the religious group such as Catholics, Protestant, and Presbyterian. The migration of the Irish migrant was of great importance to the American society since they comprised of 14to 17 percent of the white population in the united state. Their migration to America contributed to the great development of the united state. Most of the migrants of Irish came to America as soldiers, sailors, convicts, and servants. Most of the military prisoners were sold as the slave who helps the British to conquer Ireland. Due to the life expectancy and hard working of the African, slavery was the thing of the day where the Irish become servants to the American but African slavery was rampant because African showed much resistance to sickness and were hardworking than the Irish. The rampant of slavery to African introduced racism where the African was not free but the Irish migrant becomes the servant to their colonies on the agreed terms since they had many contributions to the development of the American and the British. The Presbyterian Irish community who were Scottish had a major contribution to the American economy. Their economical practice was farming and this contributed much to the domestic economy. Their women despite their contribution were not recognized in society and could not have a voice to contribute in decision making…………
