Jacob Lawrence’s Self-Portrait has shapes, texture, value, color, space, lines and form elements. In shapes, Jacob Lawrence drew this painting in two dimensions. The wall arts at the back are rectangles while the face of the person is somewhat circular.  In texture, the paintings of both the person and the wall arts have rough textures. In the value elements, the face of the person in the painting has a dark value while his clothing has a bright value. Also, the small wall art has several dark values while the bigger one has several bright values. The artist used more than eight colors and most then are vibrant more than others……………
